ONE of the top instructors in the UK is bringing American-Style Kick Boxing class to the Armoury Recreation Centre in Welshpool.

Dave Jenkins, based in Wolverhampton, has 35 years experience experience as an instructor in karate, kick boxing and Thai boxing and has been a national team competitor for the British Karate Federation.

Mr Jenkins is a black belt 8th dan – which puts him at master rank in the American-Style Kick Boxing belt classifications.

He explains that American-Style Kick Boxing is a mixture of various martial arts influenced by both traditional and Thai boxing and karate.

The class is suitable for women and men of all ages and is suitable for both weight loss and defence purposes.

As well as the weekly classes in Welshpool, Mr Jenkins is also offering a kick boxing seminar with gradings on November 23 at the King Edwards Sport Centre, Lichfield, Staffordshire. The six -and-a-half-hour session, which includes both training and gradings (not including black belt) costs £39.95 and is open to all, but booking is essential.

The weekly session for beginners at the Armoury will be run every Wednesday evening from 7pm to 8pm.

Anyone interested in giving it a go can take advantage of a special direct debit offer of £49.95 per person a month or alternatively can pay on the day at the door.

Any beginners wanting to find out more about how they can get involved should contact Dave Jenkins on 07905 445093.
