An exceptional property in the heart of Wales, this perfect retreat is a place far from the maddening crowd. Amidst wonderful walking countryside, a range of outdoor pursuits can be enjoyed from riding, walking, fishing and biking to name but a few.

Blaencerniog, which means the source of the stream, has been enjoyed as a fantastic holiday retreat by the present vendors and their families since 2005. At that time it was all but derelict and has been sensationally restored and refurbished by MMM Architects, whose brief was to create a sustainable but contemporary space. Finishes include oak plank floors, natural limestone (in all bathrooms), sustainable green oak from Powys Castle, local slate, velux windows incorporating self-cleaning glass and sheep wool insulation.

The living room, which also incorporates the modern fitted kitchen, is naturally lit by enlarged windows and doors, as well as a double height window. Views are enjoyed from this space and from the study area on the first floor landing. The dining hallway with its stone floor has a wood burning stove and an excellent utility/boot room adjacent.

The bedrooms are bright and airy with modern state of the art bathrooms.

Blaencerniog is approached via a mile long track, giving access across common land. The grounds is about 2.5 acres and are well fenced with the spring rising and forming a pretty gully through part. On the gable end of the building is a secure store storeroom

with an external entrance.
