Half time blast from the boss as our play-off hopes fade... by Carl Robinson

HOUSTON Dynamo, MLS champions for the last two years arrived at our BMO Field on Saturday afternoon full of confidence as they lead the Western Conference, and are doing well in the CONCACAF tournament.
What they have is a team that has been together for nearly three years now, so they know each other well and have lots of continuity.
We expected a tough match, but we desperately needed to win too keep alive our play off hopes.
The MLS reminds me of the Championship in the UK, as everyone can beat everyone and no one stands out, so it all comes down to consistency throughout the season.
From the first whistle we got after them, and in the first 20 minutes we had five or six shots but could not hit the target.
The game then settled down a bit, with both teams giving away possession and not getting a grip. After 30 odd minutes the first goal came, but it was against us, and in bizarre fashion.
Our keeper miscued his clearance and defender Hunter Freeman tried to back header the ball to him. There was a lack of communication between them and the ball drifted over the head of the keeper and into the net. It was a massive blow.
Half time came and the manager, who was sat upstairs, due to being sent off a week earlier for clapping his hands, sat us all down in the changing room. The jist of the talk was, not good enough and that we were all playing for contracts next year, and it was not said quietly.
A reaction was wanted and within 20 seconds of the restart we got our first shot on goal, and then continued to shoot and create chances at ease. We were knocking at the door, and finally in the 73 minute, our full back Marvell Wynne cut inside from the right and unleashed a cracking left footer to get our deserved equaliser.
The game finished 1-1 which was a positive result but not good enough as we needed to win. It now leaves our hopes hanging by a thread, but we are still alive, just.
We now face a make or break game away against New York Red Bulls next week. Win and we are still alive, lose and we are gone - out of the play offs.
Some good news I received again this week was to be called up for Wales again for the qualifying matches against Liechtenstein and Germany.
What might make it even more special is that I may win my 50th cap.
What an achievement this would be, a lad from Mid Wales, where football is hardly a breeding ground.
To play for your country once is fantastic, but to get to nearly 50 times is still hard to believe. Mind you I still get the same buzz from playing as I did when making my debut against Ukraine.
Finally congratulations to my buddy Robbie Keane who scored his first goal since his £20 million move to Liverpool. Delighted for you pal.
